 Agenda:May  15, 2023

SUBJECT
A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understandingwith Southeast Missouri State University for The SEMO Logo on the North County Park Reservoir Water Tower located at 302 Limbaugh Ln.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

SEMO Logo on County Park Water Tank – Erica presented a request by Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) to display its logo on the County Park Water Tank.  She explained that the former Deputy City Manager, Molly Mehner, originally received the request.  SEMO submitted a rendering with the request, which Erica shared.  She explained that SEMO proposed to cover the cost of the initial painting of the logo.  Alliance Water Resources has a contract with Veolia for maintenance of the water towers, so repainting the logo would fall under the normal maintenance responsibilities.  Veolia has indicated that there would be no additional charge to repaint the logo.  Erica noted that the tank currently has a Pink Up Cape logo, which is not intended to be permanent.   Amy suggested limiting the time frame for displaying the logo to coincide with the expiration of the maintenance contract.  Doing so would allow the City to negotiate a price with SEMO for repainting the logo in the subsequent years if the maintenance contract changes to a different company that charges additional for repainting logos.  Erica stated Alliance is in the second or third year of the 12-year contract.
